Isabel Burgos

November 2, 1969 — December 1, 2024

Isabel Burgos, a compassionate and determined substance abuse counselor, passed away on December 1, 2024, at Norwalk Hospital. Born on November 2, 1969, in Bridgeport, CT, Isabel dedicated her life to helping others navigate the challenges of addiction. For twenty years, she served at CT Renaissance and then Chemical Abuse Services Agency, Inc (CASA), where her strong will and thoughtful nature created a profound impact on the lives she touched.

With a firm belief in the importance of community, Isabel embraced a sense of adventure, always eager to explore new places and experiences. She often reminded those around her with her heartfelt saying, “Don’t go empty handed,” reflecting her generous spirit and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her compassion shone through not only in her work but also in her love for her family and friends.  Isabel was a poet at heart, who enjoyed reading and writing as well.

Isabel was a proud graduate of Bullard Havens Technical High School where she studied Graphic Design in 1987 and later furthered her education at Sacred Heart University. She pursued her professional life passionately, always eager to learn and grow, with every step underscored by her nurtured values of generosity and empathy.

Beyond her professional accolades, Isabel cherished her role as a mother above all else. Her daughter, Bianca Burgos, was the pride and joy of her life, and their relationship was truly the most precious aspect of her world. Isabel poured her love and wisdom into Bianca, creating a bond that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew them.

Her family, who remain to honor her legacy, includes her beloved daughter Bianca, her mother Isabel Burgos, her brother Victor Burgos and sister-in-law Chasity Ramirez, her nieces  Danyel Rivera,  Aydriana Ramirez, and Nina Ramirez, her nephews Joseph Martinez and Julian Sanchez, along with Annette and Osvaldo Negron, her goddaughter Nicole Negron, and Zaida Segarra, her aunt Teresa Rosario and uncles Enrique Burgos and Iluminado Burgos who all carry forward the love and lessons she imparted as well as countless friends, relatives and colleagues.

Isabel is welcomed into the heavens by her father Victor Burgos and her sister Marilyn Burgos, both of whom surely greet her with open arms. Isabel’s journey on this earth was one of courage, as she fought her disease valiantly until the end, embodying the warrior spirit she carried throughout her life.

Her visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, followed by a Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt.
