Irma Padilla, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on November 24, 2024 in her hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on May 22, 1957, she was known for her vibrant personality and an extraordinary sense of humor that could light up any room. Irma spent 49 wonderful years as the devoted wife to Valentin Padilla Jr., sharing laughter, love, and countless memories together.

Irma’s professional journey as a lead worker in the manufacturing industry was marked by dedication and perseverance. She was not only respected for her work ethic but also adored by her colleagues, who benefited from her kindness and her knack for connecting with those around her. Her vibrant spirit and jokester nature allowed her to form bonds with everyone she met, making friends effortlessly and blessing her life with rich relationships throughout her years.

As a mother, Irma took great pride in raising her daughters, Jennifer Padilla and Jessica Rullan, alongside son-in-law Tony. Family was truly her greatest treasure. Irma had a special affinity for her granddaughter, Alexxis DelMoral, with whom she loved to spend time, showering her with affection and sharing joyful moments. She created a world of warmth and love, becoming a crucial pillar in the lives of those she held dear.

Irma cherished the simple pleasures of life; she found joy in shopping trips, dancing to salsa music, and attending concerts, where she could lose herself in the rhythm. A seasoned traveler, she explored the world with wonder and enthusiasm, immersing herself in new cultures and experiences. Each journey crafted its own treasure trove of memories that she often shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Valentin; her daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, and her son-in-law, Tony; her granddaughter, Alexxis; and her siblings: Jimmy Castro, Angel Cruz, Jose Cruz, Albert Cruz, Robert Cruz, Esther Cruz, and a host of friends and family.   Irma will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, her laughter echoing in their hearts.

Irma is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Secundina Cruz; her father, Angel Cruz; her brother, Pedro Cruz and sister Maggie Diaz. Their legacy lives on through her, as she carried with her the love of family that gave her strength.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, with a burial following at Mt. Grove Cemetery Bridgeport at 1:30 PM. The legacy of Irma Padilla will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a world brightened by her laughter and love, a testament to a life well-lived.
