Hilda Duran, a loving mother, grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2024, in her home in Deltona, Florida. She was born on February 13, 1949, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Hilda was a very simple person with a heart full of warmth and compassion for others. Known for her caring and nurturing nature, she found true happiness in the simple pleasures of life and cherished spending time with her Family. She is the beloved wife of Luis Duran whom she Married over 28 years ago. Prior to relocating to Florida she resided in Bridgeport, CT for many years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her true joy as she found pleasure in being with them. At times you could find her simply watching a great show on Television, or playing some games on her phone. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Jose (Elsie) Pizarro; daughters: Rosa I. (Wilmer) Barrett, Angela R. (David) Robertson and two adopted daughters Rosa Nieves and Maryanne Nieves; siblings: Miriam Morales, Mirna Morales, Nancy Morales, Evelyn Morales, Jose Morales, Porfiria Morales, Aida Morales and Miguel Morales; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, the late Pablo and Daniela Morales.
A visitation to celebrate Hilda's life will be held on June 23, 2024, at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The funeral service will take place on June 24, 2024, at Good Shepherd Christian Church at 10:00 AM.
Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Park Cemetery Association in Bridgeport at 11:45 AM.
In her peaceful presence and loving demeanor, Hilda left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but remembered fondly for the love and joy she brought into their lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
