Herminio Rivera

Herminio Rivera, age 85, passed peacefully at home in the presence of the almighty God on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in Bridgeport, CT. Herminio was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico but relocated to the United States many years ago. A loving husband to his predeceased wife Blanca M. Rivera and loving father to his predeceased daughter Sandra D. Rivera.

Herminio was a man of many talents, a handyman, a mechanic. He loved inventing and building things. In Puerto Rico he loved being in "el campo" picking coffee and sugar cane, just living and loving "la isla".

He was a selfless, kind and loving father to his surviving children, Ana Rivera from Dunkirk, NY, Angel L. Rivera from Florida. Herminio Rivera and his wife Omayra, Gloria B. Gonzalez and her husband Jose- Hector Rivera- Miguel Rivera and his wife Shiula. A loving grandfather to twenty-four grandchildren and great-grandfather to an abundance of great grandchildren who loved him dearly. Plus a host of other relatives and friends that will greatly miss him.  

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 275 Union Avenue, Bridgeport, CT at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow immediately after at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
