Heather Nicole Young

March 13, 1976 — September 6, 2024

Heather Nicole Young, a radiant spirit born on March 13,1976 in Bridgeport, CT, transitioned from this world on September 6, 2024, in Kelford, NC. Her life was a dance of profound moments, vibrant expressions, and cherished connections that will echo in the hearts she touched.

Heather was a free spirit, with a heart that overflowed with love for her family. She possessed a keen intellect, an innate ability to navigate life’s intricacies with a sharp wit and insight. Known for her expressive nature, she made her presence known in every room and conversation, leaving indelible impressions on those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her passions were as rich and varied as the ocean she adored; she was an avid swimmer, often found gliding through the water with grace and joy. Her love for all bodies of water was profound—each wave reminded her of life's ebb and flow.

Beyond the whisper of the waves, Heather was a culinary artist, delighting family and friends with her cooking skills. The warmth of her kitchen resonated with laughter and love, as she fed both body and soul. She had a natural talent for knitting, creating intricate pieces that spoke of her thoughtfulness and care, encapsulated in each stitch. A lover of word games, Heather often challenged her loved ones, enticing them into friendly battles of wit and vocabulary.

Her devotion to her family knew no bounds. She leaves behind a loving mother, Kathy Wheeler; her son, Shane Barnes Jr.; her daughter, Londyn Cherry; and her grandson, Greyson Barnes, each holding a piece of her in their hearts. Heather’s siblings, Richard, David, Matthew, Phillip, and sisters, Corey, Crystal, and Juliana Young carry forward her legacy, along with sister-in-love, Stacy Ruebenacker. And not to be forgotten, her faithful dog, Gigi, who was provided with affection and companionship through all of life’s journeys.

Sadly, Heather's journey is marked by the absence of cherished loved ones, including her father, Richard Young; her brother Joseph Young and her sister, Jennifer Young, and her dog Jojo whose memories will be woven into the very fabric of her family’s continued stories.

Heather Nicole Young was more than a name; she was an experience, a bright light on a sometimes cloudy day. As we gather to celebrate her life, friends and family are invited to join in a memorial service held at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, on September 20, 2024, starting at 6 PM. The echoes of her laughter and the warmth of her spirit will remain forever emblazoned in our collective memory, a testament to the vibrant life she lived and the love she shared.
