Bridgeport, Connecticut

Gladys Maria Rivera, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 6, 1943, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Gladys brought warmth and joy to every life she touched. She was a proud resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she moved in her twenties and built a life filled with love, devotion, family, and cherished memories.

Gladys was the devoted wife of Luis Rivera, with whom she shared 35 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they created a home of unwavering support and companionship. She was the cherished daughter of the late Ángel Resto and Tomasa Morales, growing up in a loving family alongside her siblings: Nino Rodríguez, Ángel Resto, Carmen Laura García, and Olga Resto.

As the heart and soul of her family, Gladys leaves behind a lasting legacy through her children: Josué Acevedo (Elizabeth) and Wanda Vázquez (Eduardo). Her love and dedication as a mother inspired her children and everyone around her. She also took immense pride in her grandchildren: Eduardo Vazquez (Jasmine), Lissette Vazquez-Limauro (Laurean), Christine Acevedo (Juan), and Melinda Rivera (Mark), who will forever treasure the memories of her kind and nurturing spirit, boundless generosity, and deep sense of family. She also leaves behind her beloved nephew, Angel Resto Jr., whom she lovingly considered as her own son. Gladys' bond with her granddaughter Lissette and her nephew Angel was forged through countless shared moments, deeply loving conversations, and an unbreakable connection that transcended the ordinary roles of family.

The light of Gladys life continued to shine brightly through her great-grandchildren: Jayden Vázquez, Leilani Rodríguez, Kaiden Gómez, Elijah Rivera, and Jeremiah Rivera. They were the source of immense joy and pride for her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Gladys also held a special place in her heart for her many nephews and nieces, who will remember her as a beacon of love and generosity.

Gladys presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her strength, compassion, and dedication to her family and friends were the cornerstones of her remarkable life. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
