Gilbert Villanueva

Gilbert Villanueva, 61, returned to the loving arms of the Lord at Hartford Hospital.  He was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Juan Villanueva and Carmen Villanueva.  He is the beloved husband and soulmate of Edna Garcia Villanueva for over 38 years.  

Gilbert was a dedicated employee of AGI Rubber Company for 27 years before retiring.  He was an avid car enthusiast who was fond of motorcycles and 1971 Mustangs.  He enjoyed music and spinning vinyl in a DJ booth.  He was a gifted cook whose culinary delights that will be missed by all.  His biggest passion was the time that he spent with his family.

Aside from his beloved wife and mother, Gilbert leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughters Shamira (Ramon Ramirez), Ebony (Jesus Diaz) and Bethany Lynn Pagan, his adoring grandchildren Erica Mc Cready, Layla Sanchez, Jesus Diaz Jr and Aniya Sanchez, his caring siblings Juan L. Villanueva Sr (Carolyn), Wilfredo Villanueva (Nayda), Elizabeth Sanchez (Ricardo), Marilyn Peppers (Ernest), Evette Villanueva, Rick Villanueva (Liz) and Victor M. Colon Jr.  His stepfather who Gilbert Loved like his own calling him papa and both looking forward to the OT Conversations on the Porch, Victor Colon and his dear friend Lillian Martinez and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him sorely.   He is predeceased by his grandson John Mc Cready Jr. and nephew Juan "JV" Villanueva.

Predeceased besides his parents are his grandson the late John Ernest McCready, nephews the late Juan Villanueva, the late Jeremy Villanueva the late Victor Charles Peppers, and the late Robert Aleovera.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
