Genoveva Fernandez, a beloved soul who graced this world with her presence for 96 years, left us on May 27, 2024, in Bridgeport, CT. She was born on December 4, 1927, in the serene town of Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. Genoveva was a cherished daughter of Emilia Camacho and Pablo Torres.
In her journey through life, Genoveva blessed the hearts of many with her warmth and kindness. She had a passion for music and could often be found strumming her guitar with joy. Her love for spending time at the Senior Center brought light to those around her, fostering friendships and sharing laughter. Genoveva was also known for her skills at playing dominos, bringing together friends and family in friendly competition. She was a dedicated worker for Bridgeport Metal Goods for many years until her retirement.
Genoveva leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be forever cherished by her surviving family members: Jose "Jay" (Carmen) Negron, Carmen L. Torres, Carmen Rivera, and Jose A. Negron (Kathy). Although she may have departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Mass will be celebrated in remembrance of Genoveva Fernandez on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bridgeport, CT. Immediately following she will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
As we bid farewell to Genoveva Fernandez, may we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all who were fortunate to know her. Rest in peace, dear Genoveva.
