Gabriela Rosa Vera Pani

Gabriela Rosa Vera Pani, a cherished soul and passionate advocate for those in need, unexpectedly left this world on April 16, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Bridgeport, CT. Born on September 6, 1973, Gabriela embodied the spirit of joy, kindness, and commitment to her community throughout her vibrant life. Her unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Gaby was committed to seeking knowledge and was a dedicated scholar.  She attended St. Augustine's school, then Kolbe Cathedral High School, upon graduating she proceeded to Sacred Heart University and obtained her bachelor's degree from The University of Bridgeport.  As a Senior Program Director at the YMCA, Gabriela dedicated her career to championing the rights of the downtrodden. Her tireless efforts extended beyond mere employment; she actively fundraised and advocated for those who needed it most. Through her work, she impacted countless lives, ensuring that everyone had access to opportunities and support. Gaby's proudest accomplishments included being a steadfast presence in the community, spreading happiness and hope wherever she went.

Known for her happy and fun-loving personality, Gaby approached life with a contagious spontaneity. She was patient and always willing to lend a helping hand, making her an admired figure among her peers and a beloved friend to many. Gabriela's warmth enveloped those around her, brightening the darkest of days with her infectious laughter and welcoming spirit.

Gaby had an array of hobbies that showcased her vibrant personality and love for life. She found joy in collecting owls, Buddhas and shoes, decorating her home with thoughtful pieces that reflected her unique style. Her love for nature shone through as she participated in walk-a-thons, always in search of ways to contribute to causes close to her heart.

Gabriela leaves behind her devoted husband, Luis Pani, and her caring brother, Steven F. Vera and her lovely niece Katie Rosa Gilvin. The bond she shared with her loyal dog, Milo, was a testament to her affectionate nature, embodying the love she gave so freely to all.  She also leaves behind her precious godchildren whom she adored.  Her family was her main priority and she loved them fiercely.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eugenio Vera, and her mother, Luisa Muentes, both of whom played significant roles in shaping the compassionate woman she became. Their legacy lives on through Gabriela's unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. As well as her loyal companion Brooklyn.

A viewing will be held on April 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. All who knew Gabriela are invited to come and celebrate her extraordinary life—a life marked by love, laughter, and endless dedication to others.

Though Gabriela's time with us was all too brief, her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we also honor her vibrant spirit and the profound impact she made in her community and the lives of so many.

Gabriela Rosa Vera Pani, un alma querida y una apasionada defensora de los más necesitados, partió inesperadamente de este mundo el 16 de abril de 2025 en su amada ciudad natal de Bridgeport, CT. Nacida el 6 de septiembre de 1973, Gabriela fue la encarnación de la alegría, la bondad y el compromiso con su comunidad a lo largo de su vibrante vida. Su inesperada partida ha dejado un profundo vacío en los corazones de su familia, amigos y de todos aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla.

Gaby siempre fue muy estudiosa.  Ella asistió a San Agustin, luego Kolbe Cathedral para la escuela superior y continuo en las universidades de Sacred Heart y Bridgeport donde obtuvo su bachillerato.   Como Directora de Programas Senior en la YMCA, Gabriela dedicó su carrera a defender los derechos de los más desfavorecidos. Su incansable labor fue mucho más allá de un simple empleo; recaudaba fondos activamente y abogaba por quienes más lo necesitaban. A través de su trabajo, impactó innumerables vidas, asegurándose de que todos tuvieran acceso a oportunidades y apoyo. Entre sus mayores logros estaba ser una presencia constante en la comunidad, difundiendo felicidad y esperanza a dondequiera que iba.

Conocida por su personalidad alegre y amante de la vida, Gabriela enfrentaba la vida con una espontaneidad contagiosa. Era paciente y siempre dispuesta a tender una mano amiga, lo que la convirtió en una figura admirada entre sus colegas y una amiga muy querida por muchos. El calor humano de Gabriela envolvía a quienes la rodeaban, iluminando hasta los días más oscuros con su risa contagiosa y su espíritu acogedor.

Gabriela tenía una variedad de pasatiempos que reflejaban su personalidad vibrante y su amor por la vida. Encontraba alegría en coleccionar búhos, Budas y zapatos, decorando su hogar con piezas cuidadosamente elegidas que reflejaban su estilo único. Su amor por la naturaleza se hacía evidente al participar en caminatas benéficas, siempre buscando maneras de contribuir a las causas que más le importaban.

Gabriela deja atrás a su devoto esposo, Luis Pani, y a su cariñoso hermano, Steven F. Vera y su querida sobrina Katy Rosa Gilvin. El lazo que compartía con su leal perrito, Milo, era un testimonio de su naturaleza afectuosa y del amor que brindaba tan generosamente a todos.  Adicionalmente sus ahijados quien adoraba.  Su familia era lo mas importante en su vida y los amaba intensamente.

Le preceden en la muerte su padre, Eugenio Vera, y su madre, Luisa Muentes, quienes desempeñaron papeles fundamentales en la formación de la mujer compasiva en la que se convirtió. El legado de ambos vive en el inquebrantable compromiso de Gabriela de hacer del mundo un lugar mejor.  Adicionalmente su perrita Brooklyn la recibira en el cielo.

Una velada se llevará a cabo el 27 de abril de 2025, de 3:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Luz De Paz, ubicada en el 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Todos los que conocieron a Gabriela están invitados a reunirse para celebrar su extraordinaria vida—una vida marcada por el amor, la risa y una dedicación inquebrantable hacia los demás.

Aunque el tiempo de Gabriela con nosotros fue demasiado breve, su luz seguirá brillando intensamente en los corazones de aquellos a quienes tocó. Mientras lamentamos la pérdida de esta mujer extraordinaria, también honramos su espíritu vibrante y el profundo impacto que dejó en su comunidad y en la vida de tantos.
