Felipe Marrero Jr., a cherished husband, father, and friend, was born on January 2, 1949, on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, in Arecibo. He passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at his home in Ansonia, Connecticut that he lovingly shared with his late wife Ada Marrero.  Felipe's legacy is profoundly woven into the hearts of those he leaves behind, especially in the joyful memories he created with his family.

Although Felipe was born in Arecibo, he spent his early years living in Camuy, Puerto Rico before moving to Bridgeport, CT as a young child.  Felipe dedicated numerous years of his life as a blade specialist at Sikorsky Aircraft, where he not only excelled in his craft but also demonstrated extraordinary commitment through excellent attendance throughout his career. His work ethic was a reflection of the hard worker he was, dedicated to every endeavor he undertook. Above all, Felipe took immense pride in being an exceptional husband and father, always placing his family's well-being at the forefront of his priorities.

His commitment to education is commendable; Felipe later earned his high school diploma, exemplifying his belief in lifelong learning. Beyond his professional life, he proudly served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery in combat—a testament to his courage and dedication to his country.

Felipe was deeply passionate about music, finding joy in the rhythms of salsa and merengue. His talents as a percussionist, playing the conga and bongos, brought vibrancy to many gatherings where he shared his love for singing and dancing. His knack for fixing up cars added another layer to his rich personality, showcasing the many facets of a man who was as multifaceted as he was loving.

He is survived by his beloved children: Cindy Mattera, Valerie Marrero; and Alexis Marrero. Felipe was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, who will forever hold dear the memories of his gentle smile and warm embrace. His mother, Ramona Moreno, sisters Irene, Elsie, and Margie, along with many nieces and nephews, continue to honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.

Felipe is predeceased by his father, Felipe Marrero Sr., and found solace in being reunited with his beloved wife, Ada, whose memory was a guiding light in his life.
