Evelyn Ruiz

Evelyn Ruiz, age 51, of Hamden has passed away from this world into the presence of the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2022, in her home.  Evelyn was born in Bridgeport to Bartolome Gonzalez and Eva Maldonado. She lived most of her life in Bridgeport, graduated from Sacred Heart/St. Anthony School and Kolbe Cathedral High School as well as attending Sacred Heart University.  In her early years she was an active member of St. Anthony (St. Peter) church in all aspects of the youth ministry, talent shows and winning multiple pageants.  In recent years she was an active member of Vox Church in New Haven, CT.  She was a seasoned banker who dedicated her entire career to banking, most recently working for Webster Bank.    

Evelyn had a brilliant smile that captivated all those who she encountered. She was a talented salsa dancer, avid globe trotter and incredibly detail oriented.  She was truly a gentle hearted and giving person who sought to make this world a better place through her philanthropic deeds and even in her warm hugs that she so freely gave.  In all that she accomplished in her life her greatest achievement was her ability to mother her precious daughter Daniella who was her pride and joy.  

In addition to her loving parents, Evelyn is survived by her beautiful daughter, Daniella Ruiz; her devoted brother Victor Gonzalez and his wife Ida Martinez Gonzalez; her nephew and niece Victor Gonzalez Jr. and  Alikah Gonzalez; her great niece and nephew  Adrian and Zaylynn Gonzalez; and countless of saddened friends and family who will never forget her.  She was preceded in death by her niece the late Victoria Gonzalez.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 6:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held DIRECTLY at the St. Peter's Parish, 695 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport, CT at 10:30 A.M.

Interment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.
