Evangelia Reyes, age 96, returned to the Heavenly Father on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Meriden Center. She was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Jose Maria Rolon and Justina Ortiz prior to relocating to the Connecticut area many years ago. She was the loving wife of the late Juan Octavio Reyes.
Eva, as everyone called her, spent most of her life as a dedicated house wife tending to her families needs. She enjoyed listening to the radio while sipping a good cup of hot hot coffee. She was an avid reader and writer. She loved animals, especially birds. She enjoyed dancing. Eva loved to eat arroz con gandules, batatas con bacalao and platanos fritos. She will always be remembered as a feisty little lady with no filter. What she will mostly be remembered is for her beautiful heart of gold.
Eva leaves to cherish her loving children; Eusbildes, Eusbovina, Fabian & Vivian, Edgardo & Myrna, Neftaly, Nevin, Mely & Luis, Renan & Elba Reyes, 32 adoring grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her children Carlos, Ferdinan and Madeline Reyes.
Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. Her interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608.
