Enrique Acevedo

Enrique Acevedo, age 71 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Bridgeport hospital. He is the beloved husband of Milta Gonzalez Acevedo; his wife of 40 years. Enrique was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico; son of the late Rafael Acevedo and Restituta Velazquez prior to relocating to the Connecticut area at the age of five. He was a diehard New England Patriots football fan, who also loved dancing, especially to Salsa music. Enrique also enjoyed watching movies, especially Cowboy Westerns and black and white classics along with following the successful lives of Puerto Rican entertainers who rose to the top of their fields. Most of all, he was a true family man, whose calm, cool and collected demeanor made him the peacemaker of his family. Enrique is the loving father of Marlo Acevedo, Jessica (Edward, Jr.) Cortez, Enrique (Crystal) Acevedo, Jr., and Javier (Beth) Acevedo; the adoring grandfather of Christopher, Damian, Joel, Amaya, Angelina, Elliana, Edward, Cole; and the brother of Rafael Acevedo, Jr . and Angel Acevedo and Cathy Rivera. Along with other family members and friends, he is survived by his faithful companion, Spikey. Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. His interment will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
