Emilio Merced

Emilio Merced Jr., 64 years young, of Bridgeport, CT passed away on December 6, 2022.

He leaves behind his loving wife, mother, father, four sisters, two brothers, four daughters, eight grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Emilio was born in Manhattan, NY, but he was raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico by his grandmother. He grew up and spent most of his teenage years in La Isla Del Encanto. He then fell in love, moved back to NY, and started his family in Bridgeport, CT.

Emilio’s first love was music. His favorite artist was Bobby Valentin. He performed with many bands playing various instruments which included trumpet, congas and maracas.  He was a smooth dancer, always moving to his own beat of bolero. He competed in dance competitions often times winning the grand prize.

Emilio was a man whose smile lit up any room he entered. He was a humble man with a very big heart.

He supported so many families with comfortable accommodations in his career at the Inwood, as a Property Manager. He also gained a brother, Cliff, his boss.

Emilio truly wasn’t a man of many words, but he meant well. He will be missed. Until we meet him again, may his soul rest in peace.
