Emelesa De la Cruz

Emelesa De la Cruz, 95, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on May 23, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in the capital of the Dominican Republic to the late Francisco Reyes and the late Maria Damiana.  She resided in the United States for the past 50 years.

Emelesa was always a very responsible person who took her roles very seriously.  She was a very happy person who enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos.  She cherished most the times that she spent with her family.

Emelesa leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Jose Fernandez, Jesus Fernandez, Felix Reyes and his wife Magaly, Pablo Reyes and his wife Miriam and Manuel Reyes, 20 precious grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023, at 1:00 PM  DIRECTLY at St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman St., Bridgeport, CT.
