Efrem Ortiz

Efrem Ortiz, age 52, of Ansonia, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at his residence.

Efrem was born in Bridgeport, CT, the beloved son of Mercedes Millhouse and the late Felipe Ortiz. A lifelong learner, he was continuously seeking knowledge – consuming any book or program that would pique his interest. Efrem loved engaging in debates but loved his family even more.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Silvia (John) Martins and Millie Harp; beloved godfather and uncle, Jose “Joe” (Veronica) Ortiz; stepfather Jim Millhouse, his nephews Roberto, Jamil, and Tre Harp; as well as four great-nephews. He is also survived by several cousins, family members and friends that will sorely miss him.

Friends and family are invited to attend Calling on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 6-8 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by his burial at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery 219 New Haven Avenue Derby, CT 06418.
