Efrain Vargas

Efrain Vargas, 75, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on June 11, 2022, at Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT.  He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Guillermo Vargas and the late Augustina Gonzalez Sanchez.  He is the beloved husband of Carmen Ortiz Vargas.

Efrain had a wide range of interests.  He had an exceptional green thumb and found peace in the beauty of gardening.  He was a talented cook whose delightful dishes will be greatly missed by all.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing.  He cherished his trips to the casino.

Aside from his wife Carmen, Efrain leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children Frankie Vargas, Carmen Morales (Alfonso), Wilfredo Vargas (Brooke) and William Vargas, his precious grandchildren Luis Ramos, Jerica Ramos, Johnathan Morales, Christopher Vargas, Nathaniel Vargas and Briana Vargas and 8 great-grandchildren, his dear siblings Hilda Acevedo, Olga I. Vargas, Nereida Ortiz, William Vargas, Emma Nieves, Elba Morales, Janet Retemar, Zoraida Vargas, Sonia Vargas, Rosa Ivett Vargas, Beatriz Vargas and a host of friends and family that will miss him dearly.  He was predeceased by his brothers Ruben and Wilfredo.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow immediately after at Park Cemetery, 625 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT
