Edwin Gazmey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Gazmey, who departed this life on February 19, 2025, at the age of 56 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on May 14, 1968, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Edwin's journey was marked by his dedication to his work, family, and friends. He was well-regarded as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry, where his skills and work ethic left a lasting impact.

Edwin was not only known for his professional abilities but also for his vibrant personality. A natural jokester, he brought humor and happiness into the lives of those around him. His kind-hearted nature and loving demeanor endeared him to many, as he consistently offered respect and warmth to everyone he encountered.

Family held a significant place in Edwin's heart, particularly his mother, Trinidad Marrero, who played an instrumental role in his life and step dad Javier Rodriguez. Nieces Angelica, Amarilis, Giovanny, Jonathan, Reynaldo, Anthony, Devon, and Ashley Johanna Gazmey and Andre’s Colon. He is survived by his children, Edwin Gazmey Jr. and Kayla Avile, along with his devoted parents, Trinidad  Marrero and Porfirio Gazmey. Edwin also shared a close bond with his siblings, Joel Gazmey and Johanna Colon

In addition to his deep familial ties, Edwin had a passion for various hobbies. He was an avid cinema buff, enjoyed perfecting his skills as a master griller, and loved spending time playing dominoes. Edwin took great delight in riding his scooter to the park and cherishing moments spent with his family.

Edwin is preceded in death by his brother, Yiovany Gazmey, who will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.

A visitation will be held on February 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
