Connie Saunders

Connie Saunders, age 67, of Bridgeport, CT, and Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Almighty God at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, NY. Connie was born in Boston, MA, to the late Mona Lisa Saunders Peña and the late Kenneth Saunders. Years ago, she relocated to the Bronx, and her home also included an additional residence in Bridgeport where other family members resided.  Connie is the beloved wife of Daniel Torres. Wherever they were, Connie was always known for her joyful and happy personality. She was a woman full of energy, constantly on the go. She cherished peaceful evenings watching movies with her loved ones, but her excitement would soar at the mention of a camping trip, where she would create unforgettable memories with some of the best people around her. The outdoors held a special place in her heart and mind.

Connie’s vibrant presence and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  Besides her husband, Connie is survived by her precious children Bernice Cruz, William Cruz and Michael Cruz and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
