Carmen Otero Garcia

Carmen Otero Garcia, an adoring and devoted homemaker, has passed away at the age of 83. Carmen was born on April 10th, 1940 in Salinas, Puerto Rico to Pablo Otero and Maria E Garcia. After living a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her loved ones, she peacefully left this world at Northbridge Healthcare Center in Bridgeport, CT on May 30th, 2023.

Carmen was a wife to Jesus Gonzalez for over six decades who cherished her dearly throughout their lives together. She was a loving mother to seven children: Evelyn Falcon, Rafael Gonzalez, Angel Luis Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Jose Luis Gonzalez, Elizabeth Pimental and her husband Victor, and Nancy Perez and her husband Luis; as well as being a grandmother to 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She cared deeply for each and every one of them. Her family was always her proudest accomplishment. Additionally, her siblings Ruth Cintron, Pablo Otero, Iris Otero, Janet Otero, David Otero and Julio Otero will dearly miss her.

Not only did she have an unwavering love for her family but also enjoyed various hobbies such as sewing, crocheting and cooking which created many memories with family members over the years. Carmen cherished spending peaceful times with her family more than anything else in the world.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport CT 06608.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home followed by a burial scheduled at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley Street Bridgeport CT 06606 at approx. 2:00 P.M. arrival.

Carmen will be remembered for her kind heart and selflessness that touched everyone around her. Her contagious smile lit up every room she entered and made every individual feel valued and loved; she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know to know her.
