Carmen Andrea Montalvo, age 87 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Dionisio Montalvo and Herminia Perez prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area.
She was a hard worker throughout her entire life; and was known for her outstanding work ethic up until her "forced" retirement 17 years ago. When she wasn't working, she would spend her time coloring, and doing word searches and crossword puzzles. Carmen was amazing at embroidering and any other artistic endeavor she tried. She will be remembered for her funny sense of humor; which she kept sharp her entire life, regardless of what she was going through.
Carmen is the loving mother of Ivette Montalvo; and the caring sister of Prudencia Montalvo, Margarita Montalvo, Maria Montalvo, Pedro Montalvo, and Dionisio Montalvo, Jr. She is also survived by other family members and friends that will sorely miss her.
She was predeceased by her siblings Maria Elisa Montalvo, Marcelina Montalvo, Jose Montalvo, Candida Rosa Montalvo and Juanita Montalvo.
Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church 25 Sherman Street, Bridgeport, CT. Her burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06610.
