Carmen A. Hernandez, age 58 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her residence in Bridgeport. She was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Juan Hernandez and Ramona Rosado. Carmen served as a Homeschool Coordinator for the City of Bridgeport for 17 years, and a CNA for 21 years. She is the loving mother of Fernando Monginho, Jr., Hilda Monginho (Carlos Colon), Tricia Monginho, Christina Monginho Constantino, and Veronica Pagan; the adoring grandmother of Lea Colon and Ayana Colon; the caring sister of Yvette Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Lucia Collins, Pete Hernandez, Angel Hernandez, Peter Lopez, and Willie Hernandez; and the godmother of Eugene Barros-Pagan and Eric Gonzalez; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by Nayda Pagan. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 East Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017 beginning at 8:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604. Her interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
