Carmen M. Acevedo

Carmen M. Acevedo, age 76, widow of the late Rafael A. Rosario has passed into the peaceful rest of the Lord on May 7, 2022, at home while surrounded by her loving family.  Carmen was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.  She relocated to the Bridgeport area approximately in 1975 where she resided for many years.  She is the daughter of the late German Acevedo and the late Rumalda Rodriguez.  Carmen was a woman full of joy and most of the time when you ran into her, she was singing.  She loved her family unconditionally and ultimately protected them with everything she had.  She was a nurturer who simply wanted to be with her family, and cook for them, but simply seeing them well brought her great joy to her heart. A precious gem that could never be replaced is what Carmen is to her family. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children,  Maria C. Ramos and her husband Gilberto Gonzalez, Rafael A. Rosario, Maria M. Ramos and her husband Juan Ramos, Ivan Rosario, Naida E. Rosario, Evelyn Melecio, Jacqueline Rivera and her husband David E. Rivera and Miguel A. Rosario.  her siblings Guadalupe Acevedo, Angel Acevedo, Juan Crespo and Lydia Acevedo and a host of 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will dearly miss her.    

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz,  (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by burial in the Park Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT at approximately 11:30 AM.
