Carmella Michelle Tope

Carmella Tope, age 70, of Bridgeport returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John Tope and Martha Giniocola. She was known for her arts and crafts projects and her "shopaholic" tendencies. Though she was not practicing, she was very religious and flourished in her relationship with Jesus Christ. Carmella was a strong, independent woman who would help others before helping herself. Carmella is the loving mother of Stacey Rosado (Enudio) Colon, Frances (Jorge) Garcia, and Danielle (Jorge) Loor; and the caring grandmother of Juan Cortes, Jr., Tiana Holliday, Justin Garcia, Jorge Juan Loor, Jordan Cortes, Jayden Cortes, Savannah Cortes, Andreya Villafane, Isabella Villafane, and Krystal DeLeon. She is also survived by her sisters, Alvina Fancuilli, Jo Ann Tope, and Miriam Torres, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Daniel Palange and his wife Candice. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport CT 06608. Her interment will follow at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St. Bridgeport, CT 06608.
