Carlos Velez Velez, a beloved husband, father, and treasured friend, passed away on September 10, 2024, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born on August 3, 1949, in Anasco, Puerto Rico. Carlos lived a life filled with passion, warmth, and dedication to his family and friends.
Carlos was known for his exceptional cooking skills, bringing joy to those around him with his culinary. His love for Puerto Rican pottery reflected his deep appreciation for culture and artistry. A true bargain hunter, he delighted in finding a good deal, often sharing his discoveries with loved ones. These hobbies painted a picture of a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures and celebrated his heritage.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carmona Velez, and five children: Mayra, Carlos, Steven, Javid (who is married to Oderais) Luz (who is married to Miguel Padilla), and David, as well as his daughter Mirian 26 precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carlos's legacy will live on through his family, who will forever cherish the memories of his unwavering love and support.
Carlos was preceded in death by his son, Lenny, as well as his parents, Pedro and Mariana Velez. Their absence is felt deeply by all who knew him, as he carried their memory with him throughout his life.
Visitation services for Carlos will be held on September 17, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects. A viewing will follow on September 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the burial service at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery, which will take place at 11:30 AM.
Carlos Velez Velez will be remembered not only for his vibrant spirit and love for life but also for the indelible mark he left in the hearts of his family and friends. His life was a testament to the values of love, family, and cultural pride.
