Blanca Bonilla Santiago, age 76 most recently of Naugatuck, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Santos Gonzalez. Blanca was a determined and devoted woman who absolutely loved gardening; she had a true green thumb! When gardening, she practiced following the lunar calendar and had great success in cultivating her plants. Blanca was second to none when it came to cooking. She was amazing at anything she put her mind to, especially creating Caribbean and Creole dishes. A big hit with her grandchildren were her "Sorullos" which are a sweet, fried cornmeal fritters. More than anything, Blanca was a fantastic mother and grandmother whose sweet, happy, loving and caring nature transcended into the unconditional care and love felt by her family. She will truly be missed!
Blanca is the loving mother of Blanca Iris (Marcus) Berrios, Rafael Gonzalez, Santos Gonzalez, Jr. and Marilyn Gonzalez; and the caring grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
