Betzaida Perez

Betzaida Perez, a loving mother and wife, passed away on January 9, 2025, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, at the age of 87. Born on January 30, 1937, in Puerto Rico, Betzaida carried the warmth and vibrancy of her homeland throughout her life. She was a beacon of positivity, known for her unique personality and welcoming spirit.

Beyond her professional life as a dedicated assembly worker. She was fiercely independent wanting to work outside of her home.  Betzaida was a caring friend who brightened the lives of those around her. She showed her spunky nature through the meticulous care she poured into maintaining her home. Her love for cooking meant that there was always someone to share a fresh cup of coffee with, as she constantly welcomed others into her world. Music filled her home and her heart, creating an everlasting backdrop for cherished memories. Betzaida took great pride in her appearance especially her nails.  She enjoyed shopping, always ensuring that her vibrant personality shone brightly. 

A devoted family woman, Betzaida is lovingly remembered by her son, Angelus Perez, daughter-in-law, Kim Kasparian-Perez, and daughter, Brunilda Gatison and her husband David Gatison. Her husband, Daniel Perez, and brother, John Matias, have preceded her in death.

The viewing services will take place on January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Following the viewing, a burial service will be held at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT, beginning at 1:30 PM.

Betzaida Perez leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and vibrant spirit that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her cup of coffee.
