Betsy Cuevas, a beloved individual known for her love of dancing and Bachata Music, singing and dancing in her living room, and her entertaining karaoke performances, passed away on October 10, 2023. She was born on February 24, 1967, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico.
Betsy was a woman full of life and energy. She had a vibrant personality that lit up any room she entered. Often referred to as the life of the party, she had a special talent for embracing everyone around her and making them feel welcomed into her home. Her fun-loving spirit brought joy to the lives of all who knew her.
One of Betsy's greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She cherished every moment she shared with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
Betsy was preceded in death by her father Jose Antonio Ortiz. Betsy is survived by her mother Maria Montalvo. She was blessed with her loving partner, Mislael Cruz whom she spent almost two decades alongside. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments. Betsy also leaves behind her children Elizabeth Cuevas, Jennifer Cuevas, Juan Cuevas, Vanessa Gonzalez and Tommy Gonzalez (son in law) and her former spouse Juan Cuevas Sr. She was adored by her eight grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life and a host of siblings and other relatives and friends who will sorely miss her.
The services to honor the beautiful life of Betsy Cuevas will be held at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. on October 16, 2023, with doors opening at 5:30 PM and viewing time concluding at 8:00 PM.
Betsy's departure has left an indescribable void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. We will forever remember her infectious laughter, her radiant smile, and the way she brightened moments for many around her. As we come together to celebrate her life, let us hold onto the memories we shared with Betsy and find solace in knowing that her spirit will live on in our hearts.
In honor of Betsy's vivacious and lively personality, let us continue to dance, sing, and embrace each other as she did so effortlessly. May her soul rest in eternal peace knowing that she brought so much joy and love into the world.
