Bernardo Veloz, 82, of Seymour, CT, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on January 30, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in the Dominican Republic and relocated to the United States where resided since. He is the beloved husband of Zeneida Veloz whom he married 41 years ago. Bernardo was a nature enthusiast who enjoyed the peace and tranquility the scenery offered especially in rivers. He was a great fan of classic cars and took great pride in their details. He was a fanatic of classic Spanish music. For many years he owned various stores in Bridgeport such as La Tropicana and Bodega del Carmen. He was a very organized person and was committed not only as a business person but went above in providing for and loving his family throughout his life.
Aside from his wife, Bernardo leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughters Glendys Veloz Mezerewski (Colby), Ellen Veloz Piazza (Abel), Lyla Veloz Segui (Joey), his precious grandchildren Kaylie, Adriana, Logan, Levy, Ellie and Joey Jr. and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow immediately after at Mount St. Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby, CT.
