Benita Osorio, 95, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on September 16, 2023, at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to the late Felipe Delgado and the late Modesta Medina.
Benita was a very hardworker, who gave 100% to all that she did. She was a dedicated seamstress who tirelessly worked many years for Parisian Garment and American Fabrics. She was a master chef in the area of Puerto Rican cuisine who specialized in bacalaitos fritos, rice and alcapurrias. Her culinary masterpieces were primary fixtures during baseball season at Seaside Park. Benita was a woman of faith, who's strong convictions in God allowed her to be an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was always willing to help others and her main priority was the care and welfare of her family.
Benita leaves behind to honor her memory her loving children Marian Alamo and Edwin Osorio, her precious grandchildren Jasmin Osorio and Carlos M. Santos II and her great grandchildren Julian Suarez, Adrien Rodriguez, Joseph L. Santos, Levi M. Santos and Nora Santos and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her son Nolberto Osorio.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church 275 Union Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow immediately after at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
