Aurea Ribot, age 97, of Bridgeport, CT has passed from this earth into the presence of the Almighty God on January 23, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Aurea was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Pedro Martinez Lebron and the late Paula Montalvo Ortiz. In the late 1950's she relocated to the mainland of the United States to New York, shortly after moving into the Bridgeport area and has resided here since. Aurea was the hard-working mother of 8 children who was committed to providing for them. She enjoyed time with her family and cooking for them. Sincerity was one of her greatest traits and she stood by what she believed in. She supported various events promoting and supporting community events. Her cooking created not only some spectacular meals but moments that today are treasured memories. She always managed to see the positive side of things and encouraged others to do the same. She was a feisty, loving, honest, humble, strong, independent woman. She possessed the traits that every person wants and needs in a mom. From her love for puzzles with her son John, to her nightly 9 o'clock calls with her granddaughter Joyce, she made it a point to make sure those around her felt loved and cherished. She loved her children and family so much and we know they each held a unique place in her heart in their own way. Her sense of humor and one-liners brought smiles to many throughout the years. Without a doubt she will be missed by all.
Aurea is the mother of the late Mercedes Ortiz, John Ribot, Alfredo Ribot, the late Marian Patria, the late Nancy Vazquez, Joseph Ribot, Janet Ortiz, and Debra Delgado. In addition to her surviving children, she is also survived by her grandchildren Maya, Andres, Barbara, Danny, Nancy, Joyce, Peter, Jennifer, Nicole, Danielle, Isaiah, Joshua, Erika, Alyssa, Erica and Eric. Her legacy and love continues to her great grandchildren Gina, Debbie, Jason, Jeffrey, Lina, Brendan, Yvonne, Dillon, Ethan, Evan, Sydney; including her great-great-grandchildren Tommy, Olivia, Felix, Rafael, and Julian. The love for her sister Monserrate Falcon will forever be cherished, and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her presence but never forget those wonderful times.
