Ariel Dario Prieto Romero

September 5, 1958 — January 10, 2025

Ariel Dario Prieto Romero, born on September 5, 1958, in Bogota, Colombia, left us far too soon on January 10, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. His unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A meticulous maintenance worker at Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport, CT, Dario devoted his professional life to ensuring that the environment around him was clean, safe, and welcoming. His attention to detail and commitment to his work were only matched by his social nature, making him a beloved figure among his colleagues and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

He was a man full of life and spirit, known for his infectious smile and love for dancing, which brought joy not only to himself but also to others. His vibrant personality filled rooms with laughter and camaraderie, and his very presence had the unique ability to unite friends and family alike.  He was a devout Catholic who worshipped at St. Mary's Church in Bridgeport.

Dario took great pride in his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Teodolinda Tenorio Avendano, who cherished him deeply. He was a loving father to his children: Geovanny, Jennifer (and husband Juan Carlos), and Dario. Dario's love for his family extended to his role as a grandfather, where he found joy in the laughter of his grandchildren, Juan Pablo and Samuel Felipe. He celebrated their accomplishments as if they were his own, always eager to support them in their pursuits.

In a proud moment just days before his untimely passing, Dario achieved the American dream of homeownership, a testament to his hardworking nature and dedication to providing for his loved ones. This accomplishment embodies the resilient spirit he exhibited throughout his life.

Ariel joins his beloved parents in eternal rest: Marcos Prieto and Gladys Romero. While they have left this world, their memories and values continue to inspire those who remember him fondly.

Friends, family, and all touched by his kindness are invited to honor his memory. A viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 7:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. This will be followed by a Mass at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, located at 25 Sherman St., Bridgeport, CT, starting at 10:00 AM and concluding at 11:00 AM.

Though Ariel Dario Prieto Romero has departed from this world, his spirit and the love he shared will forever be etched in the lives of all who knew him.
