Antonio M. Barraza, age 83 of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of the late Olga E. Barraza, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Puerto Giraldo, Colombia on February 1, 1939, he was the son of the late Justiniano and the late Mercedes Barraza. He was a retired employee of Pitney Bowes in Danbury.
Antonio called the United States his home but his heart belonged in his native country of Colombia where he often went back to visit with his beloved late wife, Olga. An avid sports fan you could catch Antonio watching soccer or baseball. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his grandchildren playing Parcheesi and Dominos. He also enjoyed listening to great music that brought back memories.
His legacy will live on through his five children, Alfredo Barraza and his wife Mercedes, Antonio Barraza and his wife Giovanna, Dianis Rodriguez and her husband William, German Barraza, Nayla Seara and her husband Paulo. His cherished ten grandchildren, Edgar, Jose, Miguel, Jorge, Daniel, Alejandro, Karina, Brenden, Ryan, Anabella and great granddaughter Arieana. In addition to his loving children and grandchildren, survivors include his siblings Pablo Barraza, Maria Charris, Carmen Fernandez, Carlos Barraza, Amparo Mazon, Alvaro Barraza, Vilma Barraza and Yovan Barraza; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Luz de Paz Funeral Home, 426 E Washington Ave, Bridgeport. A Christian mass to follow at 1:30 PM at St. Mary RC Church 25 Sherman St, Bridgeport.
