Anthony Traversi was born on October 6, 1951 to Anna Deleo and Tony Traversi and they lived for many years at their home on East 172nd Street in the Bronx, NY. He attended and graduated from James Monroe High School and later earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Baruch College.
He briefly worked at a furniture store in the Bronx before moving on to his successful accounting career at Peñoles Metals where he was an integral and influential team member who was celebrated for many years even after his retirement.
He was a lifelong NY Mets, NY Giants, and NY Rangers fan. If a game was on, then with certainty Tony would be watching, chanting, and supporting his team - he was a fanatic to the definition. Tony’s passion for his sports teams was infectious. His raucous laughter and cheers boomed throughout our home.
He was a light in all our lives and through his smile, laughter, and genuine devotion he established a loving home with his wife and stepchildren. He is fondly remembered by his loving wife, Zaida, his stepchildren Nicholas & Annie Hernandez, his grandson Jacob, his cousins and their families, his best friend Lou, as well as the entirety of the Rivera family, located both in the United States and abroad in Costa Rica.
