Alberto Reyes Ortiz, age 94, of Bridgeport has passed away from this earth into the presence of the Lord on January 1, 2022, in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Alberto was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico before relocating to the United States mainland many years ago. After working and retiring After the passing of his beloved wife the late Herminia Reyes, he relocated once again back to Bridgeport to be closer to his family He is the son of the late Eladio Reyes and the late Perfecta Ortiz; Alberto was a very joyous man full of life throughout his entire life. Very independent and strong about not occupying others by continuously doing things for himself even at his age of 94. His great contagious personality was well-received everywhere he went. He enjoyed playing dominos and even won tournaments because of his skills in the game. Throughout the years Alberto was a great provider for his family and at all times nothing was more important to him and nothing gave him more satisfaction than to see his entire household doing well. Upon his retirement he found himself going to the SADA senior center and Hall Neighborhood house where he played bingo and dominos with others there who also came to appreciate the great man he was. Throughout his life, Alberto owned various businesses most recently in Puerto Rico and at times you would see him over at his son´s restaurant El Coquito, a staple in the Bridgeport Community. His contagious personality will be missed by all and for that and much more he will never be forgotten.
Alberto is survived by his children Eduardo Reyes and his wife Inez of Bridgeport, his daughters Iris Reyes, and Ana Belcher, and her spouse Bernard. His siblings are Luis Reyes, Manuel Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Telefora Reyes, and Luz Maria Reyes. six grandchildren, many great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will dearly miss him.
Alberto will be sent to his homeland of Puerto Rico where he will be laid to rest in the Cementerio Los Cipreses, Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
